Winter Running Safety
We are always concerned about the safety of all of the runners, walkers and cyclists in our community. The daylight hours are short, so most of our runs will be in the dark. The following are simple recommendations to make your run safer and more enjoyable.
- Run to be seen - wear reflective clothing or carry a light
-Run on the side of the road opposite of traffic.
-Anticipate that the driver of a car does not see you. Because they may not be paying attention or may have poor visability due to sunglare.
- RUN AWARE of your surroundings.
-Find a running partner(s) - It will always make the run more enjoyable, you can help motivate each other, you can look out for each others safety.
Have a Healthy & Happy 2012!
